MANILA — The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 will begin operations in November, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista announced.

Bautista stated on Thursday (Nov. 7, 2024) that Phase 1 will consist of five stations, running from Quezon City to Parañaque.

The stations include Redemptorist – Aseana, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos.

“We are here to announce the partial opening of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 Extension—this is the Cavite Extension. We will open this line within the next two to three weeks, within November,” Bautista said.

This project is expected to reduce travel time from Quezon City to Parañaque to around an hour or less.

“We hope that the extension of Line 1 will help ease traffic as it accommodates thousands of additional passengers. This will be our early Christmas gift to residents in the area,” Bautista added.
