MANILA — The Metro Manila Council has signed a resolution, prohibiting e-bikes on national roads of the National Capital Region (NCR).
“Ngayon pong umagang ito ay nagpasa ang MMC ng resolusyon regarding regulation ng e-trikes at other electric vehicles na pinagbabawal na po natin sa major roads na nasa jurisdiction ng MMDA,” MMDA chief Romando Artes said on Wednesday (28 Feb 2024).
E-bikes will be prohibited on the following roads:
Recto Avenue
Pres. Quirino Avenue
Araneta Avenue
Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA)
Katipunan Avenue /C.P. Garcia Avenue
Southeast Metro Manila Expressway
Roxas Boulevard
Taft Avenue
South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)
Shaw Boulevard
Ortigas Avenue
Magsaysay Boulevard/Aurora Boulevard
Quezon Avenue/Commonwealth Avenue
A. Bonifacio Avenue
Rizal Avenue
Del Pan/Marcos Highway/McArthur Highway
Elliptical Road
Mindanao Avenue
Artes said that those who will violate will be fined P2,500.
The resolution will take effect 15 days after its publication.
