MANILA – The easterlies currently affecting the country are projected to result in cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over various areas including the Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Zamboanga del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, announced the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday (06 April 2024).
According to PAGASA’s weather bulletin, Metro Manila and other regions can anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Across the archipelago, expect light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas prevailing.
Heat Index Warning for Six Areas
Additionally, PAGASA’s forecast for Saturday, as of 5 p.m. on Friday, indicated that several areas might experience a heat index ranging from 42°C to 43°C, including:
San Jose, Occidental Mindoro – 42°C
Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 42°C
Aborlan, Palawan – 43°C
Masbate City, Masbate – 42°C
Dumangas, Iloilo – 42°C
Catarman, Northern Samar – 43°C
The heat index represents what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is factored in with the air temperature.
PAGASA advises the public to minimize outdoor activities, especially during noon, and to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Those venturing outdoors are encouraged to use umbrellas, wear hats, and opt for sleeved clothing.

Metro Manila: 25°C to 35°C
Baguio City: 16°C to 26°C
Laoag City: 26°C to 33°C
Legazpi City: 25°C to 32°C
Metro Cebu: 26°C to 32°C
Metro Davao: 26°C to 32°C
