MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has vowed to ensure equal access to healthcare under his administration, regardless of political affiliations.

Marcos emphasized that politics should have no place in healthcare services.

“My instruction to GM Mel is clear—when it comes to ambulances and healthcare, we’re talking about people’s lives. Politics should be left out of it because I know how the system works,” the Chief Executive said during the distribution of 129 patient transport vehicles (PTVs) by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to various local government units (LGUs).

The President also highlighted how, in the past, those with connections received priority, while ordinary citizens had to wait for services.

“That’s why I said, healthcare should not be politicized. Just wait for the ambulances to arrive,” Marcos added.

“This is why I am very, very happy—it’s true service to the people. It is free from political color and removed from political influence,” he concluded.
