MANILA — The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and easterlies will continue affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday (06 Oct 2024).
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA reported that the Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Quezon are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. These conditions may lead to flash floods or landslides, especially during moderate to heavy downpours.
The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon, with similar risks of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily due to the ITCZ. PAGASA has issued a warning of potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms across affected areas.
Northern and Central Luzon can expect light to moderate winds, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate. The rest of the country will experience similar wind and sea conditions.
