MANILA — Two individuals, including a barangay tanod (village watchman), have died, while ten others were injured after the barangay patrol vehicle they were riding in crashed into a tree in Barangay San Miguel, Batangas City.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Teodoro Guico y Mendoza and Ariel Silva y Jalmasco.
According to the investigation conducted by the Batangas City Police Station, the driver, Romeo Sarmiento, lost control of the vehicle while navigating a sharp curve on the road leading to the Barangay Hall of Sitio Tanlayag, leading to the collision with the Mahogany tree.
The front part of the jeep was severely damaged due to the impact of the crash.
It was revealed that the passengers on the patrol vehicle were on a community service mission. (ai/mnm)
