MANILA — Cloudy skies and light rains are expected across the Philippines today (11 Feb 2024), attributed to the influence of both the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the easterlies. According to the 4 a.m. bulletin issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
Similarly, the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Central Luzon regions, as well as the rest of Cagayan Valley, will encounter partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also influenced by the “amihan.”
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and other parts of the country will witness partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, as a result of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA has issued warnings regarding the possibility of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Northern Luzon can expect moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate seas.
Temperature forecasts for various cities are as follows: Metro Manila, 23°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 14°C to 23°C; Laoag City, 23°C to 30°C; Legazpi City, 23°C to 31°C; Metro Cebu, 26°C to 31°C; Puerto Princesa, 24°C to 31°C; Metro Davao, 24°C to 32°C; and Zamboanga City, 25°C to 35°C.
