MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that the Shear Line is currently affecting Southern Luzon, while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) influences the rest of Luzon, resulting in varied weather conditions across the country today, Monday (02 Dec 2024).
Forecast Weather Conditions
Areas Affected by the Shear Line
Regions such as Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be alert for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall.
Northeast Monsoon Impact
The Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with rains over the rest of the Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region. PAGASA has warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains in these areas. Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, with no significant impacts expected.
Localized Thunderstorms
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized weather disturbances. PAGASA advises vigilance as severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

Eastern Luzon: Moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast, with moderate to rough coastal waters (wave heights of 2.1 to 3.4 meters).
Rest of Luzon: Moderate winds from the southeast to northeast, with moderate seas (wave heights of 1.2 to 2.5 meters).
Visayas and Mindanao: Light to moderate winds from the southeast to east, with slight to moderate coastal waters (wave heights of 0.6 to 2.5 meters).
