MANILA – The three-day 2024 Philippine Bar Examinations unfolds Sunday (08 Sept 2024) with 12,246 aspiring lawyers registered to test their knowledge across 13 nationwide centers.
After Sunday’s schedule, the exams will also take place on September 11 and 15, at the following locations:
National Capital Region: University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City; Bonifacio Global City, Taguig; University of Santo Tomas and San Beda University, Manila; San Beda College-Alabang, Muntinlupa; Manila Adventist College, Pasay.
Luzon: Saint Louis University, Baguio City; University of Nueva Caceres, Naga City.
Visayas: University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City; Central Philippine University, Iloilo City; Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, Tacloban City.
Mindanao: Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City; Ateneo de Davao University, Davao City.
Road closures
In Manila, expect road closures from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. on exam days around the University of Santo Tomas, España Boulevard, and P. Noval Street.
The exams will be conducted using Examplify, a secured computer-based program. Only laptops running on MacOS or Windows are permitted; smartphones, tablets, and other devices are prohibited.
Examinees must set the font size to 14 and ensure their laptops are prepared according to the Bar rules, including disabling antivirus software and syncing to Philippine Standard Time.
6 Core subjects
The Bar Examinations will cover six core subjects: Political and Public International Law (15%); Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%); Civil Law (20%); Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%); Criminal Law (10%); and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).
