MANILA — A total of 3,962 examinees successfully passed the 2024 Bar Examinations, achieving a passing rate of 37.84 percent, according to the official results released today.

Bar exam chairperson, Associate Justice Mario Lopez, confirmed that the passing grade for this year’s exams was lowered to 74 percent. This adjustment helped increase the number of successful candidates, as Lopez explained: “Hence, effectively because of this 74 percent passing grade, the percentage of passing is now 37.84 percent, resulting in a total of 3,962 new lawyers.”

Kyle Christian G. Tutor emerged as the top performer of the exam with an impressive score of 85.77 percent. He hails from the University of the Philippines.

The Bar examinations, which took place last September, saw a record 10,490 aspiring lawyers sitting for the rigorous tests. Despite the competitive nature of the exam, nearly 4,000 candidates have now earned their place in the legal profession.
