MANILA – Rains are expected to affect parts of Luzon on Wednesday (04 Dec 2024) due to two prevailing weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The shearline is forecast to bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Cagayan Valley. PAGASA noted that heavy to intense rains may occur in Cagayan and Isabela, with moderate to heavy rains likely in Isabela and Apayao.
Communities in these areas are advised to remain vigilant, as flash floods or landslides could occur due to the persistent rainfall.
Meanwhile, Batanes is expected to experience isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
For the rest of the country, localized thunderstorms may bring isolated rain showers, although no significant weather disturbance is expected.
Northern Luzon will also see moderate to strong winds accompanied by moderate to rough seas, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions.
As of this morning, PAGASA confirmed that no low-pressure area is being monitored for potential cyclone formation.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated with PAGASA advisories and prepare for possible weather-related disruptions.
