MANILA — Sophia Laforteza is the first Filipino artist to sign with the South Korean agency HYBE Entertainment and will debut under the new girl group ‘Katseye.’
This was after Sophia was included in the finalists of the audition program ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’ where the group was created based on K-pop training and development system.
Katseye finalists include Sophia from the Philippines, Yoonchae Jeong from South Korea, Manon Bannerman from Switzerland, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Rajagopalan, and Megan Skiendiel from the United States.
Laforteza expressed her gratitude for her fans and supporters as the final result was determined by early votes, real-time votes, along with the scores of the evaluators.
“My heart is so full of gratitude, love, and warmth. Thank you for helping me make my dream come true,” Sophia said on her Instagram post.
Katseye will debut in 2024 with their first album which contains the three (3) original songs that were played during the live finale titled ‘Dirty Water,’ ‘Girls Don’t Like,’ and ‘All the Same’ which are all available on Youtube.
“I wish I could hug every single one of you who have been supporting me. Stay tuned for Katseye in 2024.” the artist said.
