MANILA — Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Eric Tayag will retire after over 35 years of public service in the agency on Monday (April 15, 2024).

Health Secretary Ted Herbosa expressed gratitude to Tayag for his dedicated service to the Department.

“On behalf of the entire Department and the health sector, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Usec. Eric Tayag for his invaluable contributions throughout his decades of service to the Philippine health sector,” Herbosa said.

“I have witnessed his commendable progression from a young infectious disease doctor and epidemiologist to health Undersecretary, Chief Information Officer, and DOH Spokesperson,” he added.

DOH Public Health Services Cluster (PHSC) will now be overseen by Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia.

Meanwhile, Usec. Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong will assume the role of the new Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for digital health and health information systems, and Officer-in-Charge Assistant Secretary Albert Francis Domingo will take on the role of DOH spokesperson.
