MANILA — Senators have praised gymnast Carlos Yulo for winning the gold medal in the men’s floor exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo achieved a perfect score of 15.000 in the men’s floor exercise event
“Pagpupugay sa unang gymnast gold medalist ng bansa, Carlos Yulo! Isang bansa ang nakiiyak, nakihiyaw at nakipalakpak sa makasaysayang araw ni Caloy sa Paris Olympics,” said Senator Nancy Binay.
Binay noted that Yulo overcame numerous challenges, including a change of coach and relocating from Japan to the Philippines for training, to reach this milestone.
Senator Robin Padilla also extended his congratulations to Yulo, expressing hope that more Filipino athletes would win gold medals.
“Congratulations, Carlos Yulo — the first to bring home a gold medal for our country in the 2024 Paris Olympics!”
“May this not be the last gold medal for our athletes in the 2024 Games,” Padilla added.
