Pro-Movers Transport Alliance conducted a press conference at the Quezon City Circle in Quezon City on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The primary focus of the presser was to address the perceived widespread corruption within the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and express concerns regarding the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program.
The Transport Alliance reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government’s initiative to modernize public transportation while strongly opposing any potential transport strikes that might disrupt public services.
Notably, President Bongbong Marcos Jr. recently issued a suspension order for LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III in response to reports of alleged corruption within the agency. In addition, the Department of Transportation launched investigations into Guadiz’s actions, specifically related to the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program and various other allegations of corruption and irregularities.
