MANILA – Former Vice President Leni Robredo officially filed her candidacy for Naga City mayor on Saturday (05 Oct 2024), firmly stating that she has no intention of running for president in 2028.
Running under the Liberal Party (LP), Robredo had earlier stepped down as party chair before running as an independent in the 2022 presidential elections, riding the so-called “Pinklawan Wave.”
Despite calls for her to seek a Senate seat, Robredo revealed she made the decision to pursue a local position last June.
