ISTANBUL – Pope Francis wrapped up his longest overseas trip to date Friday 13 Sept 2024), delivering a compelling message on interreligious dialogue during his final stop in Singapore.

The 87-year-old pontiff addressed the importance of dialogue among young people, stating that such conversations pave the way for greater understanding as citizens and community members.

“All religions are paths to reach God,” he remarked, comparing them to “different languages, different dialects” that ultimately converge on a shared divine truth.

Pope Francis expressed deep appreciation to those who supported his journey and pledged to keep in his prayers “the peoples of the other countries I have met during this Apostolic journey.”

This visit is notable as it marks only the second papal visit to Singapore, the first being in 1986 by Pope John Paul II. Over the past two weeks, Pope Francis has also visited Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia, making this his longest international trip since his papacy began in 2013.
