MANILA – The Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, and Isabela remain under the grip of persistent rains due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon (amihan), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Friday (06 Dec 2024).

The shear line is expected to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to these areas, with moderate to heavy rainfall raising the risk of flash floods and landslides, according to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin.

In Batanes, light rains brought by the northeast monsoon will prevail, while localized thunderstorms will cause isolated rain showers across the rest of the country.

On a brighter note, PAGASA confirmed that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for potential cyclone development.

Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while the rest of the country can expect light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay vigilant and monitor weather updates for any changes.
