MANILA — Choco Mucho made history by defeating Creamline in a thrilling comeback, securing a 13-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 18-16 victory in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference semifinals.
Thus, the Flying Titans ended a 12-match losing streak against Creamline, dating back to the 2019 season.
Coach Dante Alinsunurin expressed gratitude for the win, emphasizing the team’s determination and heart.
Despite the loss, Creamline still has a chance to advance, needing to win their last two matches in three to four sets to secure seven points and improve their semifinal standing.
Choco Mucho, previously defeated by Creamline in last year’s finals, showcased resilience in their latest encounter, rallying behind standout performances from Sisi Rondina, Royse Tubino, Maddie Madayag, and setter Mars Alba.
Rondina led the charge with 23 points, supported by Tubino’s 20 points and Molde’s 12 points.
Madayag’s defensive prowess shone with seven blocks, while Alba’s strategic playmaking contributed crucially to the victory.
Jema Galanza and Alyssa Valdez led Creamline’s effort with 23 and 21 points respectively, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Choco Mucho’s determined performance.
