MANILA – Malacañang on Thursday (12 Sept 2024) firmly dismissed rumors circulating online about Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr.’s resignation, stating that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. maintains his full trust and confidence in Teodoro.

In an official statement, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cesar Chavez denounced the false reports as “pathetic attempts” aimed at creating division within the defense sector.

“Rumors to the contrary are mere efforts to sow disunity in an organization that remains steadfast in its mission to protect our people and defend our territory,” Chavez said.

He emphasized that such rumors have no place among the Armed Forces, which are focused on their duties and should be spared from “corrosive politicking.”
