MANILA — The Philippines will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies and a shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA on Sunday (19 May 2024) said that Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Residents are advised to be alert for potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The entire archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

PAGASA advises the public to limit outdoor activities, especially around noon, and to drink plenty of water. Those who need to go outside should use umbrellas or wear hats and sleeved clothing.
