MANILA – Three weather systems are expected to continue affecting the Philippines, bringing cloudy skies and rain to various regions, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday (23 Feb 2025).

The northeast monsoon (“amihan”) will bring cloudy skies and rain over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Bicol Region, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

In Mindanao, the easterlies will cause cloudy skies, scattered rains, and thunderstorms in Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the provinces of Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. The rest of Mindanao will see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the shear line will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains, and isolated thunderstorms to Palawan and the Visayas.

PAGASA also warned that moderate to heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas. Strong northeast winds and rough coastal waters are expected over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and rough seas will affect the eastern sections of the Visayas.

Temperatures will range from 24.6°C to 32.4°C.
