MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday (27 Jan 2025) mourned the passing of veteran actress Gloria Romero, describing her as “not just a brilliant artist but a very fine person.”

“I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of Philippine cinema’s great icons,” Marcos said.

The President recalled meeting Romero on the set of Iginuhit ng Tadhana, where she portrayed former First Lady Imelda Marcos.

He described Romero as “a great lady with the dignity of a true star.”

The Chief Executive added that Romero’s legacy would live on.

“Not just a brilliant artist but a very fine person; the world of Filipino cinema and all of entertainment will never forget her,” Marcos said.
