CABANATUAN CITY – A female pilot died Saturday in a helicopter crash in Guimba, Nueva Ecija, authorities confirmed on Sunday (02 Feb 2025).
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when the helicopter, identified as RP-C3424, crashed into a swamp in Purok Arimug-mong, Barangay San Miguel. The victim was later identified as the pilot employed by television host and senatorial candidate Willie Revillame.
Revillame visited the funeral home where the remains were taken late Saturday. The body is expected to be transported to Heritage Park in Taguig City on Sunday night.
Scene of the Crime Operatives were dispatched for forensic processing, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has launched an investigation into the crash. Initial reports reveal the helicopter left Manila at 10:22 a.m. on February 1, headed to Baguio, where it dropped off a passenger. Afterward, it proceeded to Binalonan for refueling, but experienced difficulty restarting its engine before departing at 4:30 p.m. The aircraft later crashed in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
The CAAP is continuing its investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
