MANILA – Savouge Spin Doctors bounced back from a recent loss to defeat VNS-Laticrete 25-16, 25-20, 25-23 on Wednesday (05 Mar 2025), securing their third win in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan City.

Mark Frederick Calado led the way with 18 points, including 16 attacks and two blocks. Sherwin Caritativo and John Daniel Diwa each contributed 11 points, with Diwa adding five blocks. Despite a strong challenge from VNS in the third set, Savouge managed to hold on and claim the win after one hour and 24 minutes.

“Players tend to get complacent when ahead,” Savouge head coach Sydney Calderon noted. “We’ll focus on addressing this in training to improve our endgame.”

Giles Jeffer Torres added 10 points, while Madzlan Gampong chipped in with seven. With the win, Savouge maintains its third-place standing with a 3-2 record.

For VNS-Laticrete, Charles Jordan Segui had 17 points, and KC Culabat added nine, but the team fell to 1-4 in the standings.

Looking ahead, Savouge will face PGJC-Navy at 6 p.m., while VNS-Laticrete will meet defending champions Cignal at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
