MANILA — Leaders from the Visayas have once again expressed their strong backing for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., reinforcing their commitment to his administration’s vision for national progress.
At an event organized by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, leader of the ‘One Visayas Bloc,’ all 16 governors from the Visayas region signed a manifesto pledging support for the President.
The signatories included Garcia, Aklan Gov. Jose Enrique Miraflores, Guimaras Gov. JC Rahman Nava, Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, and many others.
The manifesto, signed by governors representing millions of Filipinos across the region, emphasized unity in supporting Marcos’ leadership and vision for the nation. “We, the duly elected governors of the Visayas region, stand united in our unwavering support for the administration of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.,” the document stated.
The event, dubbed the “unity lunch,” also saw the participation of various local officials, including mayors, vice mayors, councilors, and representatives from the Provincial Association of Barangay Councils.
Additionally, local organizations like the League of Municipalities in Cebu and the Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Cebu Chapter issued their own statements of support, praising Marcos for his leadership in fostering national security, economic growth, and nation-building.
The continued backing follows a similar display of solidarity in August 2024 when First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos received a series of support manifestos from Cebu leaders.
This renewed show of unity underscores the growing confidence in Marcos’ administration across the Visayas.
