MANILA — Internet personality Rosmar Tan has officially withdrawn from her bid for a councilor seat in Manila’s First District.
She submitted her certificate of withdrawal to the Commission on Elections, formally stepping out of the race.
Rosmar explained that her initial motivation for running was to help others.
“Pero as time went on, I realized I wasn’t happy campaigning, especially when it became prohibited to give aid or money to people in need, because it was considered vote-buying,” she shared.
“I’ve learned a lot from this experience. Just because you think you’re capable of running, doesn’t mean you should. It feels better to help from the heart, without expecting anything in return.”
