MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has recently enacted four new laws renaming roads in Central Visayas, the Ilocos Region, Northern Mindanao, and the Bicol Region.
Republic Act No. 11987 has been signed, renaming the Bohol Island Circumferential Road to “The President Carlos P. Garcia Circumferential Road.” This road stretches through Brgy. Poblacion III, heading north of Tagbilaran City and circling back to the same barangay from the city’s eastern side.
Additionally, Republic Act No. 11988 now designates the Urdaneta City Bypass Road as “Ambassador Eduardo ‘Danding’ M. Cojuangco Jr. Avenue.”
Furthermore, Republic Act 11989 changes the name of the Tambacan Bridge to “Mariano Lluch Badelles Sr. Bridge,” spanning the Iligan River in Barangay Tambacan, Iligan City, within the Northern Mindanao Region.
Lastly, Republic Act 11990 establishes a national highway as the “Speaker Arnulfo ‘Noli’ Fuentebella Highway.”
These legislative changes, signed on March 21, will come into effect 15 days after their publication in the Official Gazette or a newspaper of general circulation.
