MANILA — With only a few months before the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) in October this year, the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas has reportedly firmed up its Senate slate for the 2025 midterm elections with 11 prospective senatorial candidates.
This was bared by veteran political strategist Lito Banayo in his July 4 column for the Manila Standard which said the administration’s senatorial slate is expected to be backed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and other major political parties.
Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino and Imee Marcos will reportedly run under the administration ticket along with former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, ex-senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Manny Pacquiao.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar are also included in the ticket.
There’s only one vacant slot to fill in the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate.
