MANILA — The Commission on Appointments (CA) approved on Tuesday (20 August 2024) the ad interim appointment of Hans Leo Cacdac as the Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
“The DMW Family congratulates Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac on his confirmation as Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers. We are confident that with your continued guidance, the DMW can significantly impact and transform the lives of our overseas Filipino workers and their families,” DMW said in a statement.
Senator Migz Zubiri said that throughout his career, Cacdac has remained committed to promoting the well-being and protecting the interest of our overseas Filipino workers.
“We are confident that he has the knowledge, experience, and heart to champion the more than 2.5 million OFWs living abroad,” the senator said.
After former DMW secretary Toots Ople died, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appointed Cacdac as officer-in-charge in September.
