MANILA — The Creamline Cool Smashers have been unstoppable in the PVL All-Filipino Conference, extending their unbeaten streak to 18 games, including a dominant 10-game run in the previous Reinforced Conference where they completed a historic Grand Slam.
On Thursday (06 Feb 2025), the defending champions remained perfect, defeating Chery Tiggo 25-17, 25-17, 25-20 in a convincing sweep at PhilSports Arena.
Team veteran Bea de Leon played a key role, contributing a team-high 13 points, including eight attacks, three aces, and two blocks. Despite her achievements, de Leon remains in awe of her teammates’ relentless work ethic.
“I am still amazed by their mindset,” de Leon said. “Despite all their accomplishments, their discipline and training level are still so high.”
Creamline’s continued excellence is rooted in a culture of consistency, according to de Leon. “It’s innate in every player,” she noted, joking that coach Sherwin Meneses keeps them grounded. “We’re always looking to improve,” added de Leon, emphasizing the team’s desire for continual growth, as instilled by superstar Alyssa Valdez.
With just a few games left in the classification round, Creamline stands poised to remain at the top, as they take on Farm Fresh, PLDT, and Galeries Tower in the final stretch. Meneses echoed the team’s focused mindset, stating, “We’re taking it one game at a time, but we’re happy with our results so far.”
