MANILA — Lawyers representing embattled Bamban Mayor Alice Guo submitted a clarification letter to Malacañang on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, seeking a fair investigation into the issues against her.
The letter was delivered to the Office of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, who also serves as the chairman of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), to present Mayor Guo’s side amidst the ongoing controversies.
The letter addresses accusations involving Mayor Guo, including her alleged involvement with BAOFU Land Development, Inc., and other serious charges such as espionage, human trafficking, kidnapping, and money laundering.
“It’s a straightforward letter addressed to the Executive Secretary in his capacity as the PAOCC chairman, expressing the mayor’s commitment to uncover the truth and ensure that justice prevails,” said Atty. Lorelei Santos.
Mayor Guo’s legal team emphasized her desire to clarify her position on these matters, to refute the serious allegations against her, and to provide clarity on the issues at hand.
In her letter, Mayor Guo also expressed her full cooperation with any investigation that may ensue.
