AS MANY FILIPINOS SEEK THE PROVERBIAL GREENER PASTURES ABROAD, a whooping 74% of the country’s adult population “expresses concern” over the rising inflation rate.
This was revealed on Tuesday by the latest survey of Pulse Asia “Ulat ng Bayan” survey taken from September 10 to 14.
Pulse Asia noted that those surveyed saw “the need to control the rising prices of basic commodities.”
Maharlika NuMedia gathered that with the seemingly bleak future, many Filipinos have migrated to different countries.
A certain overseas Filipino worker once joked before that, “In order to survive the Philippines is to live outside the Philippines,” and this is fast becoming a reality.
As of 2019, there were over 12 million Filipinos living abroad.
It was further noted that the results of the latest poll was “virtually unchanged” compared with the June 2023 edition of the survey.
Pulse Asia said across all income classes, controlling inflation is also the top concern, at 67% in Class ABC, 75% in Class D, and 75% in Class E. (ai/mnm)
