JAKARTA—President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos arrived in Jakarta on Saturday evening, ahead of the inauguration of Indonesia’s President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The historic ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, October 20.

The First Couple’s flight touched down at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, where they were greeted by Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs, General (ret.) Muhammad Tito Karnavian, along with other senior Indonesian officials and representatives from the Philippine Embassy in Indonesia.

In a statement, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez confirmed the warm reception extended to the Marcoses, sharing that the Indonesian government, alongside Philippine officials, ensured a welcoming atmosphere upon their arrival.

The visit follows an invitation from outgoing Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who personally asked President Marcos to witness the transition of power to President-elect Prabowo and Vice President-elect Gibran. Several photos released by the PCO showcased the cordial welcome, with both Indonesian and Philippine dignitaries in attendance.
