MANILA — National University standout Alyssa Solomon is one of four Filipino women’s volleyball players to make it to the final list of the 2025 Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Asian Quota Draft for the upcoming V-League season.

Solomon, the UAAP reigning Finals MVP and two-time champion, is among 43 Asian import hopefuls vying for spots in the prestigious league. Reports from Korean news outlets confirmed her inclusion in the final list, marking a potential new chapter in her career overseas.

While Solomon has expressed plans beyond the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament, she remains committed to helping the Lady Bulldogs defend their title.

Other Filipino players on the list include Maddie Madayag, who is currently competing in the Japan SV.League, Choco Mucho setter Mars Alba, and PLDT middle blocker Majoy Baron.

The draft pool also features players from across Asia, with 10 from Japan, six from Iran and Thailand, and five each from Australia and Mongolia. Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia are also represented.

Filipino volleyball icon Marck Espejo, fresh off his title win with the Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in the 2023-24 season, is the only Filipino male player in the final 45-man list. Espejo, who currently plays for the Kubota Spears Osaka in Japan, aims to secure another spot in the league.

The KOVO Asian Quota Draft will be held on April 11 at the Mayfield Hotel, with seven teams selecting their Asian imports in a non-face-to-face format. Players selected can join their respective teams after July 1, with contracts running until May 31, 2026.
