MANILA — The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Friday (07 Mar 2025) paid tribute to two of its pilots who tragically lost their lives in a crash on March 4, 2025, during a tactical operation in Bukidnon.
The pilots, Maj. Jude Salang-Oy and 1st Lt. April John Dadulla, were identified as skilled and dedicated aviators, committed to serving the nation.
PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Consuelo Castillo shared that the pilots were flying an FA-50PH fighter jet as part of an air support mission for government troops in Bukidnon. The aircraft, with tail number 002, went missing before the wreckage was discovered in Mount Kalatungan.
Salang-Oy, a member of the Philippine Military Academy’s “Siklab Diwa” Class of 2014, served with distinction for over a decade and participated in numerous critical missions.
Meanwhile, 1st Lt. Dadulla, a graduate of the Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate Course “Sinaglawin” Class of 2020, was recognized for his exceptional flying skills and proficiency with advanced PAF fighter aircraft.
Both pilots embodied bravery and dedication until their final moments, said Castillo. “Their heroism will not be forgotten, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations of airmen.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, marking the first fatal incident since the PAF’s acquisition of the FA-50PH fleet in 2015.
The PAF extended its deepest condolences to the families of the fallen pilots.
