MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a cautionary advisory regarding dangerous heat index levels in 40 regions as of Tuesday (14 May 2024).
According to forecasts from the weather bureau, the following areas are anticipated to experience a heat index ranging between 42°C to 47°C:

PAGASA explains that the heat index reflects what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is factored in with the air temperature.
The state weather bureau advises the public to limit outdoor activities, especially during noon, and to ensure an adequate intake of water.
Individuals venturing outdoors are reminded to utilize umbrellas, hats, and clothing with sleeves for protection.
In other weather updates, Batanes and Cagayan are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms attributed to the frontal system.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will observe partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Extreme Northern Luzon will encounter moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while the remainder of the archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
