President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. asserted on Friday that the Philippines would refuse to cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding its probe into the previous administration’s drug war. He declared that the country had concluded its engagement with the international tribunal.
Addressing reporters, the President stated firmly, “We have no pending appeals, and no further actions are being pursued.”
“We have already concluded all discussions with the ICC. As we have maintained from the beginning, we will not engage with them in any manner or form,” Marcos emphasized during an interview in Zamboanga Sibugay.
“Consequently, we will persist in defending the sovereignty of the Philippines and continue to challenge the ICC’s jurisdiction in their investigations within our borders,” he added. (ai/mnm)
