MANILA — The Philippines is currently experiencing a range of weather conditions due to the ongoing Shear Line, the Northeast Monsoon, and Easterlies, which are bringing scattered rains, thunderstorms, and varying coastal conditions across different regions.
Affected Regions and Weather Conditions:
Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Quezon
These areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms, due to the influence of the Shear Line. There is a possibility of flash floods or landslides as moderate to heavy rains may occur.
Caraga and Davao Region
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will be observed here, driven by the Easterlies. As in other regions, flash floods or landslides may be triggered by moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal
The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rain to these areas. Similar to other parts of the country, there is a risk of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
The Rest of Luzon
Other parts of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also influenced by the Northeast Monsoon. No significant impacts are expected, although light showers may occur.
Other Areas in the Country
For the rest of the Philippines, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected, as the Easterlies continue to affect these regions. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal Conditions:
Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas
Strong to gale-force winds from the northeast will create rough to very rough seas, with wave heights ranging from 2.8 to 4.5 meters. Mariners are advised to exercise caution.
The Rest of Luzon and Visayas
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will generate moderate to rough seas, with wave heights of 2.5 to 3.5 meters.
The Rest of the Country
Light to moderate winds from the northeast will lead to slight to moderate seas, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Advisory:
Residents in affected regions are urged to stay alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall. Coastal areas, especially in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of the country, should remain cautious due to the rough sea conditions.
The public is advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports from PAGASA for further developments.
