MANILA — The Philippines will continue to experience cloudy skies and rainfall, as three weather systems—the shear line, easterlies, and the northeast monsoon—persist across the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4 a.m. bulletin on Saturday (22 Feb 2025), PAGASA forecast scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over several regions, including the Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, Davao Region, as well as Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon.

These areas are at risk of flash floods and landslides, with moderate to heavy, at times intense rainfall expected.

Additionally, the easterlies will bring cloudy skies and occasional rains to Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

The northeast monsoon will continue to affect Cagayan Valley, the Cordilleras, and Aurora, bringing cloudy skies with rainfall.

Metro Manila

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Mindanao’s weather will be generally cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also attributed to the easterlies.

Strong winds and rough seas will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, while moderate to strong winds will bring moderate to rough seas across the rest of Luzon and the eastern parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Elsewhere in the country, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will be felt, PAGASA added.
