MANILA – Three weather systems are expected to bring rains across the Philippines on Thursday (06 Feb 2025), affecting multiple regions.

The shear line will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across the Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte. Meanwhile, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Davao Region and Caraga, with moderate to heavy rains expected in Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur. Flash floods and landslides are possible in these areas.

The northeast monsoon (amihan) will affect Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of Bicol, bringing rains. The rest of Luzon will see isolated light rains. Meanwhile, other parts of the country will experience isolated showers due to the ITCZ.

PAGASA has warned that strong winds and rough seas will impact the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and rough waters are expected in the eastern Visayas and Mindanao. Light to moderate winds and seas will prevail elsewhere.
