MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that both the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the northeast monsoon, or amihan, will persist in affecting various parts of the country on Friday (27 Dec 2024).
According to PAGASA’s 4 a.m. bulletin, the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to several regions, including Mindanao, the Visayas, Palawan, Masbate, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.
Meanwhile, amihan will bring cloudy skies and rains over northern Luzon, particularly in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Norte.
The rest of the Ilocos Region is expected to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with the possibility of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances.
PAGASA has issued warnings for potential flash floods and landslides, especially in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rains. Additionally, strong northeast winds and rough coastal waters are expected in northern Luzon.
The public is advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions against possible weather-related hazards.
