MANILA – The Philippines is expected to experience widespread rain on Saturday (15 Feb 2025) due to the combined effects of the shear line, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), and the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported in its latest weather bulletin.

As of 5 a.m., PAGASA indicated that the shear line will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers, along with isolated thunderstorms, to Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

Meanwhile, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, the Davao Region, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, and Surigao del Sur will experience cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms, influenced by the ITCZ and the easterlies.

The rest of Mindanao, Metro Manila, and other parts of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also attributed to the ITCZ and the easterlies.

PAGASA has issued a warning regarding the possibility of flash floods and landslides in areas that may face moderate to heavy rainfall and intense thunderstorms throughout the day.

In addition, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are forecasted for Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are expected in other regions across the country.
