MANILA – On Wednesday (19 Feb 2025), several regions will experience rains due to four prevailing weather systems.

The shear line will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora. PAGASA forecasts heavy to intense rains in Isabela, and moderate to heavy rains in Cagayan, Quirino, and Aurora.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (amihan) will bring rains to the Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley.

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will trigger scattered rains and thunderstorms in Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. Additionally, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Sorsogon, and Davao Oriental will experience similar conditions due to easterlies.

These areas may face moderate to heavy rains, posing a risk of flash floods and landslides.

The Ilocos Region will experience isolated light rains from the northeast monsoon, while the rest of the country will see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from the easterlies.

PAGASA has not detected any low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones at this time. Winds are expected to be moderate to strong in Northern Luzon and the eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon, with moderate to rough coastal waters. Other areas will see light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
