MANILA — Nine candidates from the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas have earned strong positions in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) senatorial survey, conducted between March 15 and 20.
The survey, commissioned by Stratbase Consultancy, revealed that ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo holds the top spot with 42% voter preference, tied with Senator Bong Go in the 1st-2nd ranking.
Former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto, also from the Alyansa slate, secured 3rd-4th place with 34%, alongside independent candidate Ben Tulfo. Other administration-backed candidates in the top 12 include Senator Lito Lapid (5th place, 33%), Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. (6th place, 32%), Senator Pia Cayetano and former Senator Panfilo Lacson (tied for 7th-8th, 31%), and Makati Mayor Abby Binay, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, and House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar (tied for 11th-13th, 27%).
However, some Alyansa candidates did not make the top 12: former Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. (18th, 17%) and Senator Francis Tolentino (20th, 13%).
Notably, independent candidates Willie Revillame (10th, 28%) and Senator Ronald dela Rosa (9th, 30%) also made the top 12.
The nationwide survey, which included 1,800 registered voters, has a ±2.31% margin of error. Respondents were asked whom they would vote for in the May 12 elections, using the official ballot template from the Commission on Elections.
