MANILA — Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro reminded Vice President Sara Duterte not to forget her duties as the second-highest official in the country.
Castro acknowledged the Vice President’s feelings, given that her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently in the Netherlands facing charges related to alleged crimes against humanity after being arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“Maiintindihan po natin ang kanyang nararamdaman, pero tandaan din po niya na milyon-milyong Pilipino ang bumoto sa kanya at kailangan din po niyang pagsilbihan,” Castro said.
Duterte is in the Netherlands to be with her father, who is facing legal proceedings.
When she saw her father for the first time since his detention, she said the former president appeared well-rested and mentioned that he was missing Filipino food.
