MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos has provided aid to farmers and fishermen in Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato affected by the El Niño phenomenon.
Sultan Kudarat Gov. Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu and Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Mendoza received P50 million each from the President.
In his address, Marcos emphasized that the distribution of financial assistance and provision of various government services demonstrate the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Filipinos under “Bagong Pilipinas.”
“My goal here today is not only to provide aid but also to promise that the government stands with you in combating the adverse effects of El Niño,” stated the Chief Executive.
“In the Bagong Pilipinas, the government is united to collectively overcome the adversities and challenges we face,” he added.
The Department of Agriculture also distributed seedlings, fertilizers, pumping equipment, and other agricultural machinery. Additionally, Speaker Martin Romualdez distributed 5 kilograms of rice to each resident.
