MANILA — Several areas in Luzon are set to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms on Monday (14 Oct 2024), influenced by the easterlies and the shear line, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Batanes will be affected by the shear line, while Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon will experience rains due to the easterlies. Flash floods and landslides may occur in these areas, especially during moderate to heavy rains.

Other parts of Luzon and Eastern Visayas will also see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with the rest of the country experiencing localized thunderstorms. PAGASA noted that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will be felt across the Philippines. No low-pressure area is being monitored for potential cyclone formation at this time.
