MANILA — Three leaders of the House of Representatives’ Young Guns on Saturday (02 Nov 2024) expressed that the high trust and performance ratings received by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez in the most recent OCTA Research survey were expected, emphasizing their “very hard-working Congress.”

House Assistant Majority Leaders Amparo Maria “Pammy” Zamora of Taguig City, Paolo Ortega of La Union, and Jay Khonghun of Zambales all agreed that the latest survey reflects Speaker Romualdez’s well-deserved ratings, attributing them to his strong work ethic, commitment, and effective leadership.

Zamora stated that Speaker Romualdez’s dedication and diligence have been vital in enhancing the productivity of the House of Representatives and earning the trust of the Filipino people.

“Speaker Romualdez is a true workaholic who never stops striving to improve the legislative process,” Zamora remarked.

“Sa dami ng trabaho sa Kongreso, siya ang nangunguna at tila walang kapaguran. The Speaker’s dedication inspires us all to work harder and deliver more for our constituents,” she added.

Ortega echoed Zamora’s sentiments, noting that Speaker Romualdez’s strong work ethic is evident in his consistent engagement with lawmakers and citizens.

“He’s very hardworking. Alam niya ang kailangan ng bawat distrito, kaya naman mataas ang tiwala ng tao sa kanya. People trust him because they see how much he invests in understanding and addressing their needs,” Ortega said.

The recent OCTA Research survey revealed that Speaker Romualdez has an overall trust rating of 61 percent and a performance rating of 62 percent.

Khonghun added that these ratings reflect the Speaker’s success in establishing an efficient legislative process and empowering his colleagues.

“We are led by someone who values hard work and leads by example. At ngayon, nakikita natin na ang disiplina at sipag ng ating Speaker ay nagbubunga ng pagtitiwala ng ating mga kababayan. The people see this, and that’s why they trust him,” Khonghun stated.

Zamora further highlighted how Romualdez’s tireless dedication has translated into a productive House, saying, “The trust that people have in him reflects their belief in a functional and results-driven House of Representatives.”

According to Ortega, the Speaker’s dynamic approach has uplifted lawmakers’ morale and driven meaningful progress in legislation.

“Our productivity in the House is proof of his competent leadership. Speaker Romualdez has established an effective legislative process and selected leaders to ensure its success. Because of this, the people’s trust continues to grow,” Ortega explained.

Khonghun also praised Romualdez for fostering a collaborative environment within the House.

“He doesn’t just work hard; he ensures we’re all on the same page to deliver the best results. That’s why people feel confident in our leadership,” Khonghun added.
