MANILA — The defending champion University of Santo Tomas will face the undefeated National University in the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball finals after defeating Adamson University 71-59, on Wednesday (04 Dec 2024).
UST’s Kent Pastrana, the reigning UAAP Athlete of the Year, led the Growling Tigresses with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 assists. CJ Maglupay added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 steals.
The best-of-three finals series begins on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
NU, who earned an outright finals berth after a perfect elimination round, will aim to reclaim the title they lost to UST last season. The Lady Bulldogs defeated UST twice in the preliminaries.
